The Kia Sportage is a pretty popular compact crossover despite the heavy competition. The model received a major redesign for the upcoming model year and while it may not seem so different on the outside, it’s what’s inside that counts. Even though it packs more features, the 2017 Kia Sportage starting price remains around $23,000.

The 2017 Kia Sportage LX, the base model, gets chrome window trim, automatic headlights, and a backup camera as standard features. A five-inch touchscreen and three selectable driving modes also join the standard list. Returning from the 2016 model are popular features like the 17-inch allow wheels, Bluetooth, tinted rear windows, and engine capable of producing 181 horsepower.

The top model on the line is the SX Turbo with a starting price of $34,894 when equipped with all-wheel drive. Under the hood is a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of hitting home with 240 horsepower. Riding on 19-inch wheels and a sport suspension, this trim does more than look the part.

As for safety, the SX Turbo comes standard with forward collision alert with auto-breaking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and much, much more. Those safety options are available on the EX trim as well, but they’ll add to the EX’s $26,395 starting price.

We here at Crown Kia of Longview can’t wait for the newest Sportage to arrive!
